Nolan Secures $6 Million for Unmanned Combat Ground Vehicles Research
U.S. Rep. Rick Nolan today secured $6 million for the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) to research unmanned ground vehicles.
“Unmanned combat ground vehicles can be sent into battle ahead of our soldiers – and in certain cases, instead of our soldiers,” Nolan said. “Developing and advancing this technology can save American lives.”
TARDEC develops, integrates and sustains technology solutions for all manned and unmanned Department of Defense ground systems and combat support systems to improve our Current Force effectiveness and provide superior capabilities for the Future Force. This boost in funding would allow TARDEC to innovate and explore partnerships with grassroots innovators to compete and develop novel solutions to address the U.S. Army’s highest priority challenges.
