Nolan Recognized for “Outstanding Leadership” on Farming and Rural Issues
This week U.S. Rep. Rick Nolan was awarded the Golden Triangle Award by the National Farmers Union for his “outstanding leadership” on issues affecting family farmers and rural America. Nolan’s selection was based on his exemplary voting record and work on matters important to Farmers Union members.
“We’ve fought a lot of good fights together,” Nolan said in his acceptance speech Tuesday night. “The fight for fair prices that reflect the cost of production. The fight to keep huge corporate farms from taking over our Minnesota farmlands. The fight to provide some badly needed assistance to our dairy farmers. The fight to fix our trade laws and stop the damage that’s being done to our markets when other nations are allowed to use America as their dumping ground. We’re working hard to defeat the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and protect Minnesota farmers – and I’m more confident than ever that we’re going to succeed in killing the TPP. Together we can get it done.”
