Nolan Boosts Lung Cancer Research Funding to $14 Million
U.S. Rep. Rick Nolan, founding Co-Chair of the Congressional Lung Cancer Caucus, championed a successful amendment to the Department of Defense Appropriations bill to increase lung cancer research funding for the Defense Health Program from $12 million to $14 million.
“My daughter Katherine was diagnosed with Non-Smoking Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer more than two years ago. Thanks to medical research and the daily prayers for Katherine that so many of my friends and colleagues in the Congress have offered, Katherine is still with us,” Nolan said. “I hope we can help give so many others that same hope through these additional research dollars.”
Lung Cancer greatly affects our military and Americans everywhere, and kills 159,000 Americans every year.
